Train Your Dog To Obey Your Commands

Dogs can easily make their way into your heart. If you’re already a dog owner or you may soon become one, good for you. Training is essential to having a good relationship with your pup. Your pet will know what is expected, and you will have confidence in them – whether you are at home or not. Read on for great tips on developing a good working relationship with your dog.

It takes a while for a dog to get comfortable in a crate. Don’t take it too fast; introduce the dog at his own pace. First, put them inside with the door still open. When they get used to that, close the gate and give them a treat they like. At first, leave the dog enclosed in the crate for only short periods of time, such as 10 seconds, and then gradually increase the duration. If the dog becomes upset, then you need to take a step back and slow down the training.

A main focus of training is timing your sessions appropriately. Start with a short session and gradually add more time to it. Observe when your dog starts to stop paying attention during the session.

Be careful of disrupting your training time with rewards. Give your dog a treat after they properly respond to your commands, but only if they are nice and calm. You might be thrilled with that accomplishment, when you are excited, they becomes excited and that cuts down the control in the situation. Maintain a calm atmosphere and provide an appropriate reward.

Don’t expect your dog to learn a command the first time you say it. It is not uncommon for it to take between 25 to 50 repetitions of the same command for your dog to learn it. Keep trying the same commands until your dog remembers it for good.

It is hoped that these tips will help you and your pet enjoy a trusting relationship. Use whatever information that will work for your circumstances. Perhaps your heart has been stolen by a sweet, little puppy or your faithful dog. Training is an important part of your dog’s life. Keep your pet well trained. Best of luck to your and your beloved dog — or dogs.
